Armstrong County’s history cannot be defined by a single building or a single moment. It is reflected in our boroughs, communities, industries, traditions, landscapes, and enduring creative spirit.
The Armstrong County 250 Celebration is guided by the Armstrong County Commissioners in partnership with Armstrong County 250 Committee Chair Donna Weckerly. Together, they share a commitment to honoring the county’s rich past while uniting every borough, township, community, organization, and event planner in a coordinated, countywide observance.
In 2026, boroughs, communities, organizations, and event planners across Armstrong County are encouraged to incorporate America’s 250th anniversary into their existing annual events and traditions—creating a year-long celebration that reflects both local pride and national heritage.
Visitors are invited to explore the sections below to learn how Armstrong County helped shape Pennsylvania—and America—through generations of hard work, dedication, resilience, and a strong sense of community that continues to define us today.

Before they make their way to our nation’s capital, our community is invited to come together for a patriotic send-off at the Armstrong County Courthouse.
